THIS IS SERIOUSLY GOOD COFFEE.

If you love your coffee there are three things you should know:

1. We slow roast every bean.

It's an outrage that so many coffee makers still fast roast their beans for just six minutes. It takes a full 18 minutes to do it properly. The faster the roast, the higher the temperatures and that can mean unevenly cooked beans. Unevenly cooked beans make bitter coffee and great coffee is naturally sweet. That's why we refuse to sacrifice taste for speed.

2. Our beans don't smell.

Some coffee beans smell too much. Trust us, that's bad. The stronger the aroma, the more flavour the bean's had knocked out of it and the more bitter it will taste. Our slow-roasted beans don't give off an aroma because more of the flavour is locked into the coffee, and therefore reaches your drink.

3. Our bags can breathe.

You won't find Costa coffee sold in vacuum sealed blocks. Once roasted, coffee beans release harmless carbon dioxide for three days. Our coffee is packed using our special one-way valve which lets the CO2 out, but keeps the flavour and aroma in.

We probably sound obsessive to the average coffee drinker. But then, if you wanted an average coffee, you wouldn't have picked ours.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN.

Bruno & Sergio Costa set up their famous coffee roastery in Lambeth, London, in 1971, supplying local caterers and Italian coffee shops with an exciting coffee, slow-roasted the Italian way. People couldn't get enough of it and by 1978 the brothers had opened their first Costa espresso bar, in Vauxhall Bridge Road in London.

To this day Costa uses the same method of slow-roasting coffee, so you can be sure that the coffee you will enjoy in this pack is the same quality as the coffee you can enjoy in Costa's espresso bars.

Costa's authentic Italian blend remains faithful to our 35 year old recipe of 6 Arabica beans to 1 Robusta, giving a strong, smooth coffee full of aroma.
